Persevering means not giving up even when something is hard.
Children must learn to persevere to have healthy emotional development.
Persevering teaches children what they can do, what they are capable of. When they think something is difficult or scary or just new and then they give it a try, it can make them feel really good about themselves for being able to do it.
If we let children just give up they will not learn how to make mistakes or how to solve problems.
Task 1: Kate persevered when she had a panic attack on the set of Amar but then named the camera Michali so it was easier to continue filming. Can you think of another time when you persevered? Type up your answer on your laptop or phone and email it to your mum or coach.
Task 2: When Kate taught Olivia and Tahseen how to shoot hoops, the girls persevered until they got a goal with Kate's encouragement. Can you think of another time when you have seen a child persevere (keep trying) until they got it? Type up your answer on your laptop or phone and email it to your mum or coach.
