"Our task, regarding creativity, is to help children climb their own mountains, as high as possible. No one can do more."

Welcome to Kate Barakis' personal learning website.

The goal of this site is to prepare Kate to get a paid traineeship at a childcare centre or kindergarten and get her (modified) Certificate 3 in Early Childhood Education. I hope this website together with her private tutoring, will help Kate love learning for life.

It has been written so Kate can understand it and remember what she has learnt.

It takes into account Kate's how Kate learns best and her interests.

It will give Kate a Toolkit that she can use with the children.

It refers to all the topics Kate will need to know to pass her Certificate 3.

It is a place for all members of Team Kate to refer to and work together on now and in the future.

Kate has her own mountain to climb as a person with Down Syndrome, but Kate has many strengths that make it possible for her to do anything she sets her mind to. Kate has lots of empathy (she steps into other people's shoes and understands how they feel), she is kind, helpful, learns quickly and really loves children.  All these things will one day make her an amazing early childhood educator!
