Early childhood educators must consistently implement movement and physical experiences as part of the program for all children. These can be planned experiences or spontaneous.
It is also very important for the educators to participate (join in) with the children in physical activity and help the children to participate.
When setting up physical activities, educators must take into account children's ability and whether they are comfortable with doing the activity and encourage the children.
Here are some different ideas for physical activities that you could do with the children that you have done yourself recently:
Teach them Dance Monkey or Dancing Queen
Put music on and free dance with scarves or ribbon
Play catch with a ball
Play tennis
Play cricket
Shoot hoops with the basketball
Do Yoga
Dig in a mud pit
Set up an obstacle course and try it out with the children
Hopscotch
Set up some cones and play the game where the children take turns to go through the cones at each cone the children have to make up a different dance step.
Set up some cones and show the children how to guide a little ball around the cones with a bat or a stick.
